I have always highlighted my hair. Even now that I cover, I still maintain them every 3 months or so.
Yesterday I tried someone new. She doesn't use a dryer so she kept the highlights on my hair for 40 minutes!! When I got home I thought my hair smelled weird, kinda of a burned smell. So I washed my hair and even after my shower put in a leave in conditioner but I still think my hair smells. I am upset and CANNOT have this smell till the hair grows out!!!!! Is there any way to treat it and get rid of the smell?

hm ... I hope it doesn't fall out ... the chemicals can easily start fire even ... also can have a reaction to other stuff in your hair ...
I would mention it to her and seek out her advice ... this way she knows you have an issue and might even find a solution ...

I don't propose to be a Rav but I once asked a shaila about something similar and was told that there are a couple of problems with dye:
1) If you can feel the dye on the hair
2) If it is not totally maintained, because it's something you "mind"
But it's really irrelevant, I guess- everyone asks their own shailos. (I know of women who were told that with temporary it's okay because it's washed out, while some who were told specifically not to if temp...)
