I found it on amazon http://www.amazon.com/Dibs-Sea.....39258
WOW! What a mashup of memories! First of all, I loved that book. I identified with poor Dibs in many ways. But what was the most memorable was that we had to write a long essay to answer each of the 25 questions as a final test after completing the book. It was hard work, and I was the only one in the class to get a 100%... I guess that's why I remember it, LOL

It's on the seventh grade list; you're right. I guess they've lowered their standards.

We did it in high school but in a very analytical way. Read every word aloud and shared our thoughts, analyzed the situation, discussed WWYD scenarios. It took a whole year. Anytime better that Animal Farm, OINK OINK!
