Didn't hear the name. For what age, gender, and which issues are you looking for services?

OK. Sounds like anxiety. Any reason why you haven't tried an anti-anxiety? CBT would be more appropriate and beneficial coupled with a low dose of SSRI to help her overcome her anxiety. With enough therapy, she can be taken off it. SSRI meds very safe and relatively harmless, and a powerful tool to use together with therapy. With therapy alone, you will see slow progress. Let me give you an example. Imagine you go out on the street every day... but you live in a town where cars can also drive on the sidewalk. So you have no control over whether you will be hit by a car today or not - how fearful! So when you come home, the one control you have is eating supper at the same time, showering in the same order each day, and cleaning your kitchen sink to a sparkle... because you CAN! That's how you can deal with anxiety, or you can take a low dose of SSRI, and add a competent therapist to the mix to learn coping skills. Without the meds, you're a wreck trying to listen but still can't. Find someone in your area on this site http://therapists.psychologyto.....h.php but search using the criteria for Anxiety. It's okay if it's someone who works with adults primarily, as long as anxiety is their specialty.

I did write back "Didn't hear the name" initially. Sorry, I didn't mean to upset you.

Since no once else has responded I will, though I apologize if it doesn't help at all.

I do not know her professionally but I used to know her personally and I know her family. She is a lovely person, as is her whole family. She is also young enough that a 9 year old girl would probably be able to connect with her well, especially in terms of dealing with anxiety (as opposed to working with someone who she might feel is "old" and intimidating). From what I know about her and her family, I wouldn't expect anything less than utmost professionalism and integrity.

Again, this is more of a personal reference than a professional one but that is sometimes the most important type when it comes to CBT.

Best of luck!!
