Yes! My son has had diarrhea for over 3 weeks - the doctor says I have two options: wait it out or go and see a pediatric gastroenterologist. I am making an appointment asap however I'm due to have a baby this week (actually like 2 weeks ago...) iyh!

Question is: Has anyone here had unexplained diarrhea in their kids? My son has no viral/bacterial infections and so it is quite unexplained. He is not teething right now so that is also out of the question. However he ismkaing 8 very soiled runny nappies e/day and his poor bottom looks so sore.

Have u experienced this? What was it? What did you do with it?

Sorry to air my dirty laundry lol

Why doesn't the doctor just take a sample and send it to the lab? That's what my doctor would do.

how old is he? he could be teething badly. but 3 whole weeks? my doctor would also take a sample and send it to the lab. Maybe you should ask your pediatrician about that.

teething is never a cause of diarreah for weeks on end. have the dr.s check for all viral and bacterial infections and food allergies and most importantly be certain your baby is hydrated suficiently refuah shelamah

AHHH ladies I am already two (maybe 3) steps ahead of you! I have already sent two jars of samples to the lab - no viral or bacterial infections. Tzivi btw our doctor is same doctor...Smile That's why in my original post I ruled our bacterial or viral infections bc there were none detected in it.

Anyway, the doctor has given me the 3rd jar bc he says that the sample testing is sometimes very inaccurate etc. I have an appointment with the Pediatric gastro guy tomorrow iy'h...We'll see what he has to say! If he tells me to wait it out I'll be soooooooooo annoyed!!

BTW guys thanks for all the tips

(if you've been to the doc, prob you thought of this, but...)

is he on any antibiotics? my kid had bad diapers, for a looong time while/after taking some medications.

try pedialtite for dehydration, or my dr always tells me grape juice and water is best drink, has the electrolites needed.

(ps: try asodlphysis(sp?) or vita plex.
