My neighbor, a 10 year old, comes over often to help with the kids. I want to buy her a gift to show my appreciation, I need ideas of what a mature 10 year old girl would like.

Jewelry, or gift certificate to Barnes and Noble type store (if she likes to read) or to a hair accesories store.

All these ideas are great (speaking as the mother and aunt of girls). If you want to spend a small amount and don't want to give a gift certificate (although that's a great idea), that thing you put behind your back when you sit in bed to read (we used to call them "husbands) is also good as is anything from Claire's (store in mall).

Those Swarovski heart necklaces, a feather headband, a nice notecard set with her initial.
