my son is really good with peeing in the toilet. he's also night trained. he's been in underwear for about two months. now how do I get him to poop in the toilet? I'm sick of cleaning his poopy underwear, and I'm worried about the start of preschool in september. suggestions, ladies?

Do you have a potty chair for him as well?
I have the same kind of situation but we've had some success with the potty. He doesn't want to do it every time but he is starting to see the fun in "putting" some into the chair. I keep talking about it every time I have to take care of dirty underwear and dirty night diapers. He is repeating my words by now so I am hoping to see this in action more regurlarly soon.
Good luck!!!

ds had that problem I gave up on training then he trained himself. he had access to the potty and learned how to go #2 by himself,
if you don't want to stop training him how about training underwear with dispoable diaper liners?

I have the opposite issue. My ds will only poop in the toilet and won't pee in the toilet. My dh called me the other day and said my son went poop. What he meant was my ds ran to the bathroom, pulled down his pullup and pooped all by himself. After I heard about the mess on the toilet and my son's bottom, I was very glad I was not home.
I don't know how we did it. It was this way with all 3 of our children. They poop potty trained first and then learned to pee in the toilet.
HaShem was looking out for me, b/c I don't know what I would have done otherwise.

ive written this in other posts but for kids who refuse to poo on the toilet I was told by the doctor bc my daughter had the same problem that first of all u have to get a potty so they can put their feet on the ground and they feel more secure and u let them sit on it at first with a diaper on, then after that u take the diaper off and liine the potty with the diaper then slowly remove that. good luck

we have a potty. he has already learned to pee sitting, and by now he stands. he doesn't really like the potty. he also tells me he has to poop when he has to pee, so now I asked him to tell me when he has to sit instead of stand, but I don't know if it'll work. yikes.
