Hi
Do the carseats for a double snap and go have to be identical or should two Evenflo carseats work?Do I need to try them in advance or is it safe to assume Ill be fine with those?

Generally, most infant seats are compatible with most snap 'n gos. However, to be sure, google the make and model of your infant seat with the make and model of your snap 'n go. You should find this information readily available online.
Since each seat is set up individually depending on which infant seat you are using, you should be able to use 2 different ones.
Are you in the market for a double? I may have one... let me know!

I am back with more "how will a transport the twins?" questions.
I seem to be the only person making use of asking all you experienced moms for advice,so thanks for the listening!!!
So,I have two evenflo car seats both about eight years old.My thought was to use them with the double snap and go,but they are not compatible.I was also just given a twin savvy Combi, but it is from 2004 the year before they made them car seat compatible.I think Im happy using the Combi alone as in in and out of the car stroller, but what should I do for a carseat/stroller combo? if I have to buy carseats anyway, should I just buy ones that have a matching stroller or is the double snap and go still a good idea even though its usage span is shorter than a regular strollers span?any thoughts? direction??all help appreciated!

Eight year old carseats have expired. Please get new ones!
You can probably get a double snap n go second hand so you won't spend too much, and most car seats fit into it.
You can then resell it when you've outgrown it.

If you get the snap n go - you will not have to wake up any sleeping baby - if you travel alot I would suggest you get the snap n go

I am (IH"Y) planning on getting the double snap n go for the first few months after the twins are born. It just looks so easy and practical and I can't see myself being able to do anything alone with the twins (doctors appointments, etc) without it.
I currently have one infant car seat from 2007 and I need get another.
Hopefully the 2007 one will work in it, I am not sure what brand it is, I need to look.
My issue is I am very superstitious, so I am not sure what to have "on hand" before. Anything that I buy before will be in the garage with the receipt taped to it.
I am due in early Nov, but I know that twins come early, so I am not sure when to make those purchases. Even browsing online makes me nervous!
I can't believe that there are people out there who already have a gorgeous nursery set up months before their babies are born!

when having twins the more you buy before you give birth the better off you are - unless someone can buy all the things you need, since the begining its really not easy to get out with twins.

You can buy a double snap and go used from craigslist- that's what Idid. I also bought a second carseat, just make sure to check the expiry date. Those were the only things that I bought before I gave birth- I knew that once they were born I wouldnt have time to look around on craigslist for deals, I would end buying new and I wanted to save money.

I guess I will have to at least break down and buy the second car seat ahead of time (maybe the end of Sept) and keep it in the garage.

I don't know how this would work for you but we really don't buy stuff beforehand. But I once saw something on sale and wanted to. I was told I could buy it - just not keep it in the house. So I stored at someone elses house and felt much better about it.

Yes, and I think I have mentioned on several threads, my family is very into ayin horah when it comes to babies.
I think I will feel better if I keep it at someone else's house, but I know I will still be uncomfortable doing it at all. What can you do? They don't let you take a baby home from the hospital without a car seat!

I LOVED the double snap and go and was soooo sad when my kids outgrew the infant car seats! Don't skip it-- it's soooo handy. ESPECIALLY in winter---- my kids could stay strapped into the infant seats in their bundle mes. taking them out of car seats, putting snowsuits on them right there at the car and then strapping them into a stroller--- ack, what craziness that would have been at that age. They sleep so much in the beginning whether they're out and about or not- it's just easiest!

I was told that the Double Snap n Go doesn't push very well and it might be better to get something like the Graco Duoglider because it takes two infant car seats and then we'd have a regular stroller (that can be kept in the car) as well for just a bit more money than the Snap n Go.
I can't decide what to get and really need to figure something out soon because I'd like to get car seats asap.
What do you guys think?

I used the double snap n go, not only outside of the house, but also IN THE HOUSE a lot. Getting two babies from point A to point B is not always easy and you need "somewhere" to put them. When my babies were very little I used to put them in the car seats and the snap n go an have them with me in the kitchen while I washed the bottles or cleaned up or whatever.
My twins were 4.5 weeks early and born in October, so we really didn't take them out of the house all that much. When we took them to the doctors (very often in the begining) we would just carry in the carseats.
When they were around 6 or 7 months we bought our citi mini which does great in and out of the car.

NO! Car seats that are 8 years old should not be used. They expire after 6 years.
