I'm sure I'm not the only one who has received crazy calls with ridiculous, vulguar questions.
One of the most recent ones was someone posing as an Underwear Company Rep. and he wanted to send me free samples of their underwear AHEM..........so which size I am etc. etc. etc.
What would or do you answer?? I want to tell them "BUG OFF" But think that maybe I can tell them something to bring them back to Teshuva LOL I'm so naive, they'll probably listen to me right away..

I've had such calls for a while. We finally got the police involved, and to make a long story short I'm sorry to say it turned out to be coming from a yeshiva payphone. we did not press charges, however, it was done to our 800 number - chosen at random, and when they realized it was a jewish person, continued calling round the clock. three months later, we found the phone number on our phone bill. The administrator, Rosh Hayeshiva etc.. were notified. I never did get my money refunded - it was 25c per call going on for quite some time adding up to a huge bill, and I never followed through what they did to those boys. But if it's a similar scenario, I would take every action to get them caught! These boys end up being sick adults if no action is taken!
anonymous - because many people know about the story, and I don't want to disclose my user name.
By the way, are you from Canada??

No it happened to quite a few people here in NY.
But my friend in Canada has someone call her up making her crazy. The last phone call was that he was coming to take her away with him, something like that. It was scary!!! She ran to her sister and slept there until they could put a stop to it.

for a few months, when I was still in hi-skool, this guy used to call me regularly and to this day I dont know who it is, altho im curious. he gave me his 'name' but I found out later it wasnt him.
but if it wud happen now I wud just hang up. why did u not hang up on these guys? or if they kept calling, just leave the phone off the hook for a bit. I dont beleive they are malicious or will harm you in any way - just a nuisance. But if you can track them down and get them in trouble it serves them right.
I get tonns of calls from cell-phone companies, insurance etc and it drives me mad but the minute I hear them asking does a mrs.... live here? I guess its just a sales call and if im feeling polite I'll say "im not interested thank you" and hang up b4 they say, "ur not interested in double glazing madam? at only half price we can re-double glaze your garage and garden shed...... bla bla bla......" if im not feeling polite I hang up immediately!

Recently I got a call asking to donate $$$ to a veteran society.
As I was sick and tired of my work phone line being bombarded with solicitations, I decided to have some fun.
Caller: "would you donate to the veteran society"
Me: "what's a veteran?"
Caller: Someone who fought in a war.
Me: "which war?"
Caller: World war 1
Me: "Sir, I'm sorry to break the news to you, but there aint no more veterans alive from World War 1"
after saying the above, I hear the caller shout over to his supervisor- "Hey William, this woman on the phone says that there aren't any more veterans alive from WW1"
the supervisor got on the phone and I had a few words with him, but in short I had a good laugh- AND INTERESTINGLY THEY HAVE NOT CALLED BACK AGAIN (and they were calling me several times a month before this)

My husband does that sometimes when annoying telemarketers call. He often says "you know, we really need the money ourselves, we are so poor" etc. They usually hang up right away.

telemarketers are often poor frum people who need their paycheck just as much as you need yours. Have some compassion and at least be polite.
