Is it a "cop-out" to not deliver any Shalach Manos at all to the teachers and take advantage of the PTA program: you send in $, pick which teachers you want to send to, they make up a basket and deliver it.
My kids teachers live at all ends of the city and we end up spending the whole day running to deliver to them - never mind scheduling around this teacher who is home from 9-11, this one who is home from 1-3 etc..
My kids do enjoy seeing the teacher, as do I. You can learn a lot about the teacher when you see them at home.
There are just not enough hours on Purim Exclamation

No its not a "cop out", rather a REALITY. One person to give to a huge list of people , all in one day, with other obligations during the day too. So I can empathise.

I think it's a great idea. saves times, not to mention money, and frankly, the teacher doesn't need 30 shalch monos baskets. I would say, choose your kids favorite teachers, depending on that number, and go to them.

If a child has just two teachers, I'd make the effort. If it's a high schol girl with teacher in B.P. and Flatbush etc., I don't see the necesssity to travel.

Those baskets are misfounded; no one needs such expensive nosh at this time, and it's much nicer to deliver it yourself; I guess I think this way since LUb. isn't strict on sending via a shaliach.

It is a nice fundraiser, though.

It's number one a lifesaver, number two a fundraiser for the school, and number three, do you really think the teachers need or want a thousand little peckalach of nasherei from every Tev, Dov and Hindy? One nice parcel from the PTA, everyone's good wishes, and genug shoyn!

When did mishloach monos become an Olympic competitive sport?

I think teachers of little kids get a kick out of seeing them all dresed up, and vice versa.

It's hakares hatoiv from the kids, too.

why should you? fine if you live in a shtetl one mile square and can deliver to the whole shootin' match in an hour--but what you are describing sounds like way beyond anything reasonable. purim has several other mitzvos that take time to be observed, too.

Mommy 912 I know what you're talking about and since my son is in Kindergarten that letter that was sent home is not going to help me in any way it's only for the older kids so take advantage of it. Your name will go on it and the teacher will definitely appreciate it.

I know the 2 woman in charge they do a beautiful job at everything they do.
