Ds is turning 3 in a few weeks. A few days ago, we were about to get into the bath and he said, "I want to do that," pointing at the potty that has been sitting there for at least 6 months. So, he went and sat, and made peepee and we cheered and got stickers and it was wonderful. The next day, he woke up dry, made peepee got stickers, and we cheered - he made 6 peepees that day (all doodies were in the pull up). From that point on, he'll still go in the mornings, but I guess the excitement has worn off and he'd rather just go in the diaper. When we're out, especially, he won't go, even if I bring the little ring that goes on a reg. toilet set.
Now, I get not wanting to make doodie, or going when out, but now he's not going as much when he's home either.
So, what's my next step? I don't want to push him, it was all his idea, but on the other hand, I know he's able and ready....
What do you suggest?

bribing with "real" underpants? That worked for my ds. I even spluged and got trains/cars when I saw it worked. Worth the extra money.

you either have to set aside the time to make it a big positive reinforcement project, or just give him a break and wait. I waited until ds was a couple mos over 3 yrs and it was SOOOO easy, bli ayin hara. We had tried a few mos before his bday and also, it was neat for a day, and then no interest. If he's resisting, I've heard it's better to let hit be and try later than to push it.

Either put him in underwear 100% and be prepared to be home a lot and deal with the laundry, or lay off it totally and go back to diapers until you want to try again. I think pullups are very confusing. We only ever used them in a few specific situations (on an airplane when you might not be able to get up, in the car within the first week of training, etc)
