We're in the process of training my little one. Most mornings he wakes up dry. Is it gross or just sensible to reuse his diaper the next night as long as it's dry?

Yes, it does depend.
I was thinking about this myself when I was toilet training my daughter.
But since she gets frequent yeast, I decided against it. Afterall, I wouldn't put on a pair of used underwear on her.
I think with a boy it's different though.

that is gross. why dont you put her in underwear for the night, and if she has an accident wash her linen.

if the kid is waking up most nights dry, it would be really weird for the kid to have a bm accident. usually kids who are waking up dry are past that. I hate the word poop- were not dogs!

Well, if *you* wake up dry in the morning, do you wear the same underwear again the next night? If not, then give your child a clean diaper.

Use a diaper liner at night, they are cheap (do they still exist?) and throw it out, then you can reuse the diaper if it is clean.

If underwear would cost as much per use as a diaper, I might.

Yea, but I assume you are wearing the underwear the whole day. This kid isnt wearing the diaper the whole day. And when you're older and have feminine discharge, its gross to reuse it bec its not clean. But little kids generally dont have discharge, so it stays clean.

There could still be bacteria from their tushies in there Tongue Out All night is a long time of sweating and such. If dc is usually dry I'd probably use underwear with a plasticy over cover and reuse the over cover if clean but use fresh undies everyday.

If she wakes up dry three times in a row then head for the undies.

I think I would use them twice. Don't we wear our underwear during the day after wearing them at night?
I would make sure tho that it was completely dry.

I bought some pull ups today and I realised I pay the same amount for underwear.

pampers make disposable padded sheets that you put on the kids bed under their bottom, and if they have an accident it will not soak through and you don't have to wash the linen. if he is dry most mornings it is worth doing that.

I wouldn't. I have this dilemma when I change a diaper close to bath time (but not close enough to just bathe them) and then when I undress them their diaper is completely dry. I'm always tempted to reuse but I never do because it just doesn't feel right. Tushies are germy even if they're clean, they can sweat and you wouldn't be able to tell, etc.
