greenie, that reminds me of a Peanuts cartoon in which the dumb kid (Peppermint Pattie?) prays and prays to do well on a test, and then the brainy kid (Schroeder?) says "Hoping and praying should never be confused with studying."

Not that I Ch'V mean to imply that OP isn't studying. Clearly she's studying to the best of her ability under trying circumstances.
