Since many mothers are coming here with recently diagnosed egg alelrgies, I thought I would post this info (it's also good for those with vegan friends/family). IMO, pay attention to the non-food items that may contain egg (esp. the MMR and flu vaccines).

Avoid the following:

Livetin
Lysozyme
Ovalbumin
Ovoglobulin
Ovolactohydrolyze proteins
Ovo macroglobulin
Ovomucoid
Ovomucin
Ovotransferrin
Ovovitellin
Simplesse
Silico-albuminate
Vitellin
Foods that contain or may contain eggs
Baby foods (some)
Battered foods

Breads and buns (can contain or be glazed with eggs)

Consommé soups
Cookies
Cream pies
Custards/puddings
Dessert mixes (some)
Doughnuts
Eggnog
Egg noodles

I am fairly certain my baby has a egg allergy. He is EBF'd He only seems to react if I eat eggs plain not baked into something. In your opinion, do you think my staying away from all eggs is necessary?
My 2 year old has an egg allergy, I was told is still ok for him to have cakes and cookies, just not eggs, pancakes or frenchtoast. Anything baked at high heat for 20 minutes is ok.

Great list,
am almost sure doctor told me to keep dd off margarine too when she was allergic to eggs as there's egg powder in it
There is s/t called egg replacer which you can buy to replace eggs in recipes
I think it's made by ener-g
good luck!

in my situation, all egg avoidance was 100% was necessary. Even cooked egg CAN cause an allergy to increase in severity (as was the case with my kids) - although I know of plenty of people who can eat cakes and baked goods but not plain eggs, raw eggs (mayo) or real eggy things like quiche or kugel.
IMO (I am no doctor) - I would avoid completely and then when ready begin re-introducing to ensure that your dc has truely outgrown the allergy.

I just cleared successfully my daughter's egg allergy with NYET technique, my chiropractor practices it. I haven't completed the egg challenge yet, so I don't know 100%

I've also been helped a very lot by NAET (I suppose thats what you mean)
So have two of my kids. Its really unbelievable and I never dreamed that it could help but...it did!! B''H
my friends baby with terrible excema is better and my daughter astma is for 80% gone (I'm still in the middle with her) she's so happy about it.
the only neg. thing is that it takes some time and it costs...
