I work remotely for someone who is Jewish but not frum.
I used to go into the office once a month and talk to my boss over the phone a few times a week.
Since COVID I haven't gone into the office and I communicate by email and text.
He just texted me that his father passed away and asked if I could call all clients to reschedule.
I am about to make shabbos and have no time to call him plus he probably is very busy with funeral arrangements.
So my question is should I just text him I'm sorry and tell him I will call him on Sunday or just quickly call him now?
Do I ask him if he and his family will be sitting Shiva?
He is a an interesting person not your typical person.
Do I say anything to his clients?
I never had a bosses parent die before.

You can text him I am so sorry for your loss.
My condolences or something like that.

Tell him you'll let everyone know on Sunday.
If you have time you can ask him if there's anything you can help before shabbos.

If not you can still ask him on Sunday.

I would prob respond something like: of course, so sorry to hear. And then call him on Sunday also.

"I'm so sorry to hear that. I will make sure to reach out to all your clients on Sunday to let them know you'll reschedule them. Do you know how long you plan on being out?. Let me know if I can help in any other way. "
To clients:

"I just wanted to let you know Mr x needs to cancel your appointment on Monday/Tues due to a death in the family. He'll be in touch about rescheduling "
