Dd had many ear tube surgeries, constant ear infections growing up. She’s now five and is terrified of anything touching her ears, especially water.
Bath time is a terror and she doesn’t know how to swim so want to sign her up for lessons. But she will scream if water gets in her ears!
We got her a water crown for the bath which keeps the water out of her eyes and ears. But it won’t work for a pool which causes her head to be submerged and water will get in.
What should I do?? Earplugs are not an option bc she is scared of them being in her ears.
TIA

I had this with dd who had fears due to another medical issue that she had had. We took her for play therapy. It took time but it helped tremendously.

My son who also had ear tube surgery wears something called an earbandit basically its a piece of neoprene with velcro that goes around their head and covers their ears. He doesn't seem to mind it and it keeps the water out.
