Spray any kind of cleanser liberally and let it sit for at least 20 minutes. If the gunk is still stuck on, wipe off what you can, spray liberally again and wait another 20 minutes. Soaking softens the worst offenders.

Don't have a dishwasher. The bottom of the fridge is so dirty. Will take tons of elbow grease. And it's not a shelf or drawer that I can give a bath like with do every year

I like windex for grime. The alcohol in it breaks all the grease and shmutz down well.

Otherwise fantastic works well.

My fridge bottom gets gross too.

We wash the shelves and drawers in the sink, but the bottom I put on tons of spray and let it sit until it softens. Very little scrubbing needed.

OP, were you being facetious? Because "elbow grease" is an idiomatic expression that means "hard work." It is NOT a kind of glop that you find clinging to the bottom of your fridge or the top of your stove.

"How did you get your stove so clean?"
"A little bit of dish soap and a lot of elbow grease."

How does that work? Things spill and leak in a fridge, both dairy and meat. So how can you just throw the shelves into a dishwasher? Seems like a kashrut problem.

Mr clean magic erasers really made cleaning my fridge so much easier.

Pour a bit of warm water on the shelf to let the gunk soften a bit, wipe up water with paper towels and then scrub at it with a Mr clean magic eraser. Make sure the magic eraser is wet.

If it’s really disgusting and you don’t want to spend a ton of time scrubbing, you can spray oven cleaner. Let sit for a few min and use either a brush or a white sponge to clean it.

Just a life hack for the future, once a week, ideally before adding newly bought products into the fridge, grab a couple of wet wipes and wipe down spills and crumbs. Takes less than a minute and saves a lot of work.
