Dd is going to be a butterfly, and is begging for me to make her up with a butterfly on her face.
I have NO idea where to start... anything online looks so elaborate.
I can do whiskers for a cat...little black dots for a ladybug...that's sort of what I'm looking for.
Some basic guidelines of simple lines that will give a butterfly impression
Dress up day at school is tomorrow so any help would be really appreciated!

Can you do wings on the sides of her face and antennas above her eyebrows?

My daughter is also being a butterfly and she’s also expecting butterfly makeup. I purchased multiple colored makeup pens and one in black to do the outlines and I watched a few beginners you tube videos to get the idea.
It won’t be perfect but I’m imagining drawing a simple butterfly on a paper , but this time around eyes /cheeks is my canvas instead and the center of the butterfly is her forehead/nose

I watched an artist do it on my daughter this Sunday.
She dipped a sponge into pink makeup and used it to create the base of the butterfly around the eyes (top part) and cheeks (bottom part). She then lined it in white and added the antennas.

Thank you! Can you point me in the direction of a couple of helpful videos?

Can you paint a butterfly on her cheek with a stencil? You can either buy a butterfly stencil or print one out.

Like an oil paint not liquidy which she dipped into a wet sponge.
The outline was with a crayon type of paint

I do face paint professionally
The face paint used with sponge is water activated with a wet sponge
It is solid
When doing a butterfly colors top wing is triangle shaped and bottom is petals
If you use the right type of face paint you only need to draw the atena
If you want a rainbow use a split cake
I recommend brand like fusion, tag ,global
Skip the outlining that you see and it will still look adorable
