Therapist recommendation - Lakewood area

Can anyone please help with a recommendation? My daughter, age 13, has ocd, anxiety, and add. Seems that she might have an eating disorder as well. Although we’ve taken her to therapists in the past, they were not a good match and not helpful. She refuses to go to therapy at this point. Life has been severely stressful and quite difficult. Any recommendations for someone that my husband and I could go to so that we can get guidance on how to parent/help her until we get her to a point of willing to go to a therapist herself?

I should add that I have a history of trauma and I’ve noticed that a lot of her behavior is really triggering me. I know that this needs to be addressed but the idea of starting with two new therapists - one to help me and one to help my daughter- is overwhelming and frankly too expensive.

I’m really hoping that someone here has a good recommendation. I feel like I’ve lost my daughter, I’m exhausted and so sad all the time.

Chavy Lowy specializes in anxiety/OCD.
However eating disorders are a different specialty and you need to clarify if that's the issue. If it is, you need someone who specializes in eating disorders.

Can you see someone at a clinic in order to get help for yourself? It need not be so expensive. Chemed and LCSC may have good options. Without getting yourself help, you may not be able to optimally help your daughter, and that would be a shame.

I’ve been seeing someone at lcsc. Been trying that. Hasn’t been so helpful. If anyone has a specific recommendation…

Eating disorders are a whole different area though.
I guess you could call her and discuss what symptoms you are seeing and what your concerns are.

I don't know what your own symptoms are, and whether you are not finding your therapy experience helpful might have to do with either it not being a good match for you, or someone not trained in your specific challenges (you mentioned trauma).

Have you tried getting a referral from Relief?
