If you recently built a house, how much did it cost you? How big is your house? Are you having basement renters? Tia

So it’s $560K for a 2800ft house? That doesn’t sound bad at all.. sounds cheaper than buying. A house already made

Well you would also need to buy a piece of land to put the house on lol

To clarify:that price is
Actual cost of building
Not including land
Not including legal fees and brokerage
Not including architecture

To buy land in prime location is not cheap and then most people dont build 2800 sf. They build bigger homes. Usually you are looking at close to a million

I don't believe you can build for 580 nowadays.

Often building smaller than typical just raises the price per square foot amount. This is because several vendors won't find the job worthwhile for them to come out for if its less than a certain amount of money. So you won't necessarily find that the foundation for a 2800 sq ft house is less than for a 3200 sq ft house...
And, as has been already pointed out, the price to build doesn't include land, permits, architecture, land prep....
Realistically in Lakewood you are looking at over a million to build a single family home. (Unless you already own land that you bought at a cheap price a while ago.)

Why would you build such a small house? The typical development colonial house these days is approximately 4,000 sf. That’s 2,000 per floor. (Not including finished basement)
The cost to build would be about $800,000, the permits, architect, interior designer if you get one, civil engineer if you need one, survey, can be done for another $100,000 on the lower end.
To be safe, because pricing can get wonky from now until you finish the project, and there are often surprises with construction, you should be prepared and have 1 million accessible. Hopefully it’ll cost less, but just in case at least know where you’ll get/ borrow the last 100k.

On top of the construction costs, there is appliances, bathrooms, kitchen, carpets, closets,… not necessarily included in construction fees.

Also square footage is not really an accurate guide since kitchens and bathrooms are very expensive per square foot versus a living room or bedroom. Obviously the finishes will make a difference in final cost but in general.
That is why - in general - people tend to build larger homes because the marginal cost of adding square footage as bedrooms or more spacious living rooms or dining room isn't that much.
Also you need to factor in the cost of the construction loan since you will be essentially paying a second mortgage while the home is being built.

True. Like I said before we spent $200/Sq foot for the actual construction and another 500k on finishings.
OP no one can tell you how much it will cost because it is all dependent on size and what level you do.

These are generally considered to be construction costs - certainly bathrooms and kitchens as well as flooring.
What perhaps you mean is that the finishes of a home can be very expensive or what is called "builder grade" with inexpensive finishes in the bathroom and kitchens, very cursory closets with just one rod and cheap wall to wall carpet instead of hardwood floors.
