I just made challah for shabbos shuva, was it meant to be round or regular? Think I made regular by mistake

I only do round by yom tov. I haven't made my challos yet, but I will probably do them regular. It's not halacha to make round challos. I've forgotten altogether and we've had regular on yom tov.

My MIL does round, my mother does round for RH, Erev Yk and HR only. The rest regular.

I did round, it was easier to make the entire batch round to think how many meals etc.

My mother also does square pasta for the soup... shhh I'm using whatever is already cooked and in the freezer.

It's not a halacha and whatever you do is ok. I usually bake round through Simchat Torah just for the fun of it, but if I have braided I don't reject it. As it happens I discovered some braided in the freezer, and I'll be using it this Shabbat.

Braided for shabbos. Round for erev and motzai Yom Kippur and succos/shmini atzeres/simchas torah.
