Fitness equipment gemach

Is there such a thing as a fitness equipment gemach?
I'm looking for weights and dumbbells......
Not sure I want to buy them, cuz I just want to lose weight fast!

Exercising with weights won't really help weight loss.

Ironically they might even increase weight loss but you will look better. Fat weighs less than muscle so if you tone your body then you will look more slender but actually weigh more.

Diet is most critical for weight loss - there are approximately 3500 calories in a pound which means - for most people - you need to eat 3500 fewer calories than your body metabolizes to lose a pound.

The "average" rate women burn calories is 1800 per day - do the math and you will see why on a non-starvation diet, you can only loss 1 to 2 pounds a week.

Of course exercise helps - but it is cardio high intense exercise that burns off calories and even then not all that much. It depends on weight and intensity but running burns between 280 and 520 calories per thirty minutes. Lifting weights doesn't burn as many calories.

Exercise helps because muscle burns more calories than fat does - increases your basal metabolism and also exercise seems to be helpful in curbing appetite.

Dumbbells are pretty cheap as far as equipment goes, and resistance bands are even cheaper. It’s not much of an investment so you can just buy some and see if it works for you.
