We have just started a new youth group in our community (in Israel). We want to start with a splash. At the opening event we plan to announce which leader will be with each group, as well as announce the name chosen for the youth group. The opening event is this coming Friday morning, at a playground.
We need an idea of how to "reveal" the name. One of the teens had the idea to write the name in string, pour flammable liquid on it and light it up in fire. Sounds cool, but too dangerous in my opinion. Need another "cool" idea.
Also how to announce for each group who their leader is. I thought of having baloons with the name inside and they need to pop the balloons to find out. But I don't want to generate chaos. Each group has 10-15 boys.
