Google recipes for salt dough. I've never come across one that needed cream of tartar. They normally need flour, salt and water.

If I remember, I'll post the one we always used when I get home and can check it.

This is a very good one. We can't buy kosher cream of tartar by us and so make this.
1 Cup Salt
1 1/2 cups Kool-Aid
6 cups flour
MIX
2 2/3 cups hot water
Put in water a lot of food coloring and mix
Pour in and mix by hand
If too sticky add more flour
Keep in a sealed ziplock
