Every year animals, I think squirrels ( or birds) come and either chew my green beans or pulls off most or all of the green beans. It’s so disappointing. I’ve tried spraying plant with Tabasco sauce and soapy water with little success. I am not handy enough to place chicken wire all around and over them. What do you use to deter animals from your plants?

MIL says that hanging CDs (those shiny round discs) near plants acts as some sort of scarecrow / deterrent. She hasn't had squirrel problems since doing this, after having tried so many other things.
