Thanks in advance. I am totally out of my depth here. I was not really involved in creating my website so I don't really know what goes into it. I am now setting up a second one and have no idea what to do. So the first thing I want to do is buy a domain name, does anyone know what the difference between GoDaddy and Google? Or is there somewhere else I should get it from? And then the hosting, what does that entail and who should I get to do it?
Thank you

Do you have someone doing the website? They should be able to get a domain for you.

I don't have anyone yet. I wasn't that impressed with the people who did the original one. They weren't bad but they made things much more complicated than need be. The design of this is simple because it will follow the first one. I wanted to buy the name today and then figure out the rest over the next few weeks.

I bought mine from godaddy and use G suite for email . Once I set up G suite I realized that I could have bought the domain name from Google. Check which is cheaper.

We actually purchased many through godaddy. It doesnt make much of a difference where you get it though...
I also designed 2 websites with Wix which is really very user friendly and easy.
let me know if you need any help.
