ps I'm not referring to if you have to go to mikvah. obviously, that's another story. I meant someone told me we don't cut nails cuz it's a sign of aveilus.

It's in the shavua shechal bo, not the whole nine days. Hope you'll never need this info.

I was totally sure that you couldn't cut during 9 days (except for mikva). So when the 2nd night of the 9 days came and my nails were super long (forgot to cut them earlier), I was so upset!
so I decided to look up the halacha just to make sure, and boy was I surprised when I saw it's only shavua sh'chal bo! I so happily cut my nails
