ISO salad ideas (all different types, not just lettuce) with no vinegar or lemon juice and if they do have the taste should be very light.

Thanks.

Make the salads with orange segments. It will have just the slightest bit of tartness, but mostly sweet. I love the little canned tangerines, and they look super classy.

You can also make the dressing on the side, and whoever is ok with the acidity can put it on their own serving. Maybe put out olive oil separately for those who prefer that plain.

Shredded green cabbage with just salt and olive oil is actually really good. I make it most Shabbatot and people always ask how I dressed it and are surprised it's so simple.

What about rice vinegar? (It's much milder than most vinegars).

I think she's asking because some have a minhag not to use vinegar or other Sharp/sour ingredients over Rosh hashanah, symbolic for a sweet- not sour- new year.

Ah, got it. Thanks for the clarification! Just so I know in case we have guests over Succos- do people hold this through Tishrei, or only for RH?

Not sure. Wish I could be more of a help. Any other imamothers know the answer to this?

I think the vinegar\lemon juice is just rosh hashana.
Nuts some do either only rosh hashana or through most of succos.

Any lettuce salad with a drop of olive oil, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Tomato Avocado salad - tomato, avocado, celery, scallions, oil, garlic powder, & salt.
How about trying to make your own up with mayo, honey, soy sauce and some spices.

Heart of Palm and baby corn, sliced drizzle with olive oil, salt
Waldorf salad substitute walnuts for cashews, or leave nuts out
Brocolli slaw with pomegranate, mixed with mayo, sugar, pinch of salt
Roasted eggplant rounds, I use chinese eggplant drizzle with olive oil and salt, roast in a 450 oven until carmelized
Mushrooms and pearl onions, made just like eggplant
Tabouli salad, I'm leaving out the lemon juice
Israeli salad, leaving out the lemon juice
Creamy zucchini salad

Techina is made with lemon juice.

carrot salad - grated with canned pineapple bits and raisins (optional)
Eggplant dip - grilled (roasted) eggplant with lots of sauteed onion, slat and pepper
Tomato dip

All these I do for "regular" Shabosos too and they are really delicious.

Our minhag is actually not to have vinegar/sour things until after hoshana rabba, when the gzar din is sealed.

I grew up doing that too. Now DH does this only on the first night of R"H.

Hearts of palm, avocado, grape tomatoes, either lemon juice or olive oil (I've done both, separately), garlic, dill and salt. Toss gently to coat. Make doubles, it disappears in seconds.

Combine bag shredded cabbage, 2 scallions, 1/3 cup silvered toasted almonds, sesame seeds. Pour dressing over salad: 3/4 cup boiling water, 1/4 cup each sugar and oil, 1 teaspoon slat, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper.

Creamy dressing made with mayo, thinned with some water, and seasoned with garlic and salt (great for pasta salad too).

Israeli salad seasoned with diced red onion, sliced scallions, parsley, mint, olive oil, salt and pepper.

And any salad dressed with olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper (cold pressed olive oil makes it extra special).

Thank you for all the ideas. It is really helping me come up with a plan.

I like that roasted beets idea because I'm going to roast beets and will for sure have leftovers.

I think techina is okay (for us) because the lemon juice flavor isn't obvious.

Is spicy ok?
I mix avocado with salsa or you can do mayo and salsa. Top with tera stix or enchilada chips.

I used frozen orange juice concentrate instead of lemon juice in my salad dressings. It's the only time of year I buy it. It's a stronger flavor than regular orange juice
