Minhag Lub is to put the simonim right on the cloth matza cover, so that's what we do.

we have a beautiful white (heavy) seder plate, and a copper one too. both were used cuz we give all those over bar mitzvah their own ke'ara. my dads is ceramic (my parents were here for the second seder).

Our matzoh covers are hand embroidered by me- which I made years ago.

choc- never heard of that-but then, I've never been to a lubavitch seder either!!!

My DH mentioned in front of his mom that he loves those beautiful silver kaarahs, that have a compartment beneath it for matzoh, so my MIL bought him one, not real silver, but it sure looks like it! It 's really beautiful, it made a gorgeous centerpiece. Very impressive looking!

Right b/4 Pesach I got together with my sibs and we divided my parents' a'h valuables amongst ourselves. I was vying for my father's a'h silver ka'aroh, which was in my home for the past many years cuz my father/parents used to come to me for seder for the past years. We threw lots and I won it!!! I was so happy that I burst into tears; I felt that Hashem had really seen into my heart and let me have it.
It was so beautiful on our seder table - everything looked so perfect, the only things missing were my parents.... Crying Crying Crying

Green, I was also given a fancy seder plate as a gift, but since it's not Minhag LUb to use it, we display it instead. If s/o comes to us for the sedeer that's not a LUb, they are welcome to use it.

keep in mind I didn't marry lub and so we used it ... he probably wouldn't now ... but my son didn't seem to mind ... I guess it's what he's used to ... and I use a mixture of lub and other minhagim ...plus the lenox is too beautiful not to use ...

We used to use a lenox one, but this year we bought a new pewter one that matched the pewter leichters that I have.

Wow, in Belz it’s the same minhag (but in glass plates)!

I did buy a nice one by saverite for $29.95 and my dh loves it. It has 3 feet so it stands over the matzo cover, and the matzos are protected from breaking. That is, until my 2 yr. old who was sitting on my dh’s lap helped herself to the Levi matzo in the middle of maggid!
