We're doign 6 flags...I figure that with only 1 real day of Chol hamoed let my kids do an active thing that will take the whole day so that they feel that it was really a special day!

We're taking DD to the transit museum because she loves the subway. we have a card where places in nYC are free (the cool culture card) so that helps. I don't know if we're bringing the babies or not (which might be the main expense)

I'd like to take her to the Miami boys choir concert (what night is that?) but I'm thinking she's a bit young and will probably get tired and cranky.

Chol HaMoed is always four days. Remember that Sunday, Erev Yomtov, is a long day. Friday, too, for that matter.

where aren't there going to be huge crowds, chol hamoed? maybe we'll stay closer to home then. DD is not so great with crowds. Or do you think the prospect park zoo would be as crowded?

Although on further reflection I've been to the prospect park zoo already and it isn't that exciting that I'd like to go back again.

Wherever you go, you want to go early......Sunday'd be the worst day for an outing if you don't like crowds b/c then you get not "just" the Chol Hamoed crowd, if you get my drift.

You want a weekday. Like Thursday or Friday.

Oh, and BasHinda - don't forget that they charge ($$$) for the zoo here; it's not free like in D.C.

I have a card where a lot of places are free. hmmm, I would go thurs. or fri then. an alternatr is to visit relatives in Monsey but they usually go away chol ha moed. I wouldn't go Sunday for the reason you said.
