Here is the story in short: on tuesday I started to feel weird at 6 am, but I waited to wake my husband up because the contractions weren't regular, and I wasn't sure that it would have progressed into the "real" thing. At 8 I finally decided that it was time to go to the hospital, I was having regular contractions every 3 minutes...so I woke up my husband, who got my toddler ready to go, and we walked downstairs -5 floors- to get to the taxi.
The driver didn't understand that I was in labor, so he was driving in a crazy way, until my husband told him to be more careful, if he didn't want to have a baby born in his car.
We got to the hospital, they visited me and they saw that I was completely dilatated, even though the waters didn't break.
Since I was already starting to push, they decided to break the sac, but once they did it they discovered that the baby was in the birth canal with the face instead of the head towards the exit: they decided to do an emergency c-section, while I was feling like I was giving birth right there, and so they brought me to the surgery room and they did spinal anestesia. Since then I didn't feel any pain, but I looked at the entire procedure through the reflrction on the ceiling...The baby started crying immediately as soon as he come out, and averybody said he was huge-4 kilos and 150 grams!!!
After that they brought me to my room, and the baby was with me within 20 minutes...I did complete room in, also because I wanted to breastfeed only. and anyways the formula they they have in the hospital is not kosher, so the only time they took the baby was for visiting him, routine exams, etc.
IYH on tuesday there will be the bris at 10 am italian time, and everybody is virtually invited to come!
