Are any of you planning anything fun for the week of Chanukah?
So far, we've got 2 parties we were invited to (one by my Mom, the other by DH's aunt), and I'm pretty sure my MIL is also making one. I have to call her and make sure that all these parties don't end up on the same night.
Do you all give gifts every single night?
We used to get a gift every single night when we were kids. Now that I've got my own, I try... but I'm not as organized as my Mom.

I have two parties planned so far....as far as gifts..we have a few per child and they get them spread out, but some nights we just do something special or get something small, like chocolate coins, or go out for supper. We always have fun lighting the menorah and kids sing and dance.

No, nothing. One Motzei Shabbos, DH makes latkes and we give Chanukah gelt another night, but nothing more than that.
When the kids were little we tried spacing the gifts for something each night, but the kids got greedy and demanding and we had to stop that years ago.

I think my mother is making a party 1 night & I'll make one another night. Only some of my sibs are in town. We only give presents one night - the 1st. Then gelt every night. We always go to the menorah lighting at Grand Army Plaza at least 1 night. The kids love the prizes, music & latkas. I hate the cold, but love to go anyway.

Spending time with the family and giving the kids gifts even thought according to some it technically "past nisht " because it copies the minhag hagoyim. However I don't care and will continue to do it.
