(Kitzur S.A. siman 104, seif 2) Chazal (in Makos and Avos) say:

Quote:
one who degrades Chol Ha'Moed, even if he has Torah and good deeds, has no portion in the World to Come shock

what constitutes degrading Chol Ha'Moed? not honoring it with food, drink and clothing
therefore, everybody is obligated to honor Chol Ha'Moed to the best of his abilities, and to wear honorable clothing

Question: how is it that an advertisement for Chol Ha'Moed activities which includes paintball shooting, says "bring old clothes"?

what do you wear when roller or ice skating, boating, biking, going on amusement park rides etc.? if it's not "honorable clothing" uh oh ... Confused

it doesn't say shabbos clothing, but what is wrong with wearing nice weekday clothing. not jeans and all? a lot of people have really nice weekday clothing. you wear shabbos clothing with shabbos shoes shaitel and all everyday of chol hamoad?

We were told in high school that while one should dress lechvod Chol Hamoed, if you are engaging in activities such as paintball (not that that existed in our times) you may dress accordingly, as long as otherwise you dress properly.

Motek, do you know how long ago I graduated high school? I don't even remember who told us that - our halacha teacher, our principal, or someone else.

You should see what the mishna brura writes concerning 'chol hamoed trips'

that it is worse than working on chol hamoed

What work isn't a loss of money? Volunteering?

You have to ask a shaila if you are allowed to work on Chol Hamoed. You are not usually allowed to work if you'd just lose your salary for those days. It also depends what job you do.
