Just an idea: I'm a divorcee. Last summer I went on a solo trip and absolutely loved every minute of it! It's something I would recommend highly.

I live in Rockland County, N.Y. I rented
a car for a few days and drove to Niagara Falls, Canada.
I made the drive on Monday, spent Tuesday and Wednesday touring, and drove back home on Thursday. I stayed at the Oakes hotel, paid a small fortune on room with a great view, and it was worth every penny!
