We are going to family bris ( my sibling's grandchild) IM'H tomorrow morning. I assumed my 12th grader will go in her uniform and we will drop her off to school on our way home. She just told me she wants to dress up and then come home to change and then walk to school - would probably take extra 45 - 60 minutes. It's not immediate family , why can't she go in uniform ? Am I wrong?

Does she have a really nice sweater she can wear over her uniform?

School uniform isn't what one wears for a simcha.
Take school uniform with, and let her change in the bathroom before taking her to school.

I will ask her about wearing nicer sweater with her uniform. May be she will agree, thank you! I really do no want her to take a whole change of clothing, we are not planning on staying so long. I just do not see a point of not wearing uniform.

Only to a close family member. Otherwise I see a lot of girls in uniform.

I understand at that age not wanting to wear a uniform to a bris. I’d either let her bring a change of clothes or bring her back home to change

I would let her get dressed up, go back home, and change.

Girls yes, a 12th grader not so much. She sees herself as an adult and wearing what the elementary school girls are wearing can feel babysish.
