Didn't want to hijack the other thread..
My 7th grade daughter is also going on a full day trip. They have to bring food for all the meals and of course snacks.
My daughter says that some mother's are letting their girls spend $20-$25 on nosh! Girls are also bringing sushi for some of the meals.
Is this normal?? I gave her $5 to spend and said we have snacks in our house.

I can’t comment on the nosh because my daughter doesn’t like to eat much junk, but the sushi sounds reasonable at least in my daughter’s crowd. Most of them only get veg sushi so the cost isn’t prohibitive.

How does one keep sushi at a safe temperature on a day trip?

Should be easy with a cooler bag.

On that thread and the consensus was 5-10 dollars. If she wants to get sushi she'll have to figure that in.
