My son is first year cheder. If your boys are in a cheder that doesn’t allow denim, can you link to me what shorts your son wears in the summer? Black is so dark and white so impractical and we haven’t done tan in about twenty years.
What does your son wear?

My son wears some black, tan Chambray, navy Chambray, black Chambray.

My son wear the children's place girls black Chino shorts.
Frum stores have other colors like taupe, grey, and navy, but I don't want to spend that on yeshiva clothes.

That link is to denim, I don’t know if black denim is allowed in your school but if you want the regualr cotton not denim it’s not sold out. I happen to like the look of black shorts.

I cut all their ripped pants during the year and roll. The cuff twice glue gun and voila I have lots of nice fitting shorts

I bought petit clair shorts when they were 20% off recently. I also bought Childrens place skimmer shorts. They have a nicer fit than the chino shorts. Went to the store so I can see in person.
