Mine always comes out either too dry, or too heavy.
SO.....
Now we just buy the Marble Cake MIX, and it always comes out PERFECT!!!

I have 2 but they are not teh standard ones. One is the chocolate-cinnamon marble cake in KBD Entertains and the other is a chocolate-honey marble cake I make for Rosh HaShana. Both are very moist, easy to mix, oil not margarine based and super yummy. Let me know if you are interested.

I use the one from the old Spice & Spirit cookbook. It's a great cake, pretty much always comes out good. If u want the recipe, let me know.

Greenfire posted this a while ago. I've made it and it's a HUGE hit in our house. My girls have made it for school parties and have had requests for the recipe too.

I've been making this cake for many, many years.
Marble Chiffon Cake
1 ½ c sugar
2 c flour
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
½ c oil
7 eggs separated
¾ c water
2 tsp vanilla
4 T cocoa powder
¼ c hot water
¼ tsp baking soda
Sift first 4 ingredients into large bowl.
Add oil, yolks, water, and vanilla.
Beat at medium speed until smooth.
Whip egg whites. Fold into batter and divide in half.
Combine cocoa, hot water, and baking soda and add to half the batter.
Fold in.
Slightly greased tube pan, alternate white and brown mixtures.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
Check with toothpick.
