What do teens wear in and around the pool in sleepaway camp? In my days we all wore swim shorts on top of one piece bathing suits. Do girls still do that? Also do all girls shave? Or if she's really light blonde and you can't really see can she not or do girls shave that too? Doesn't show through nude tights.

Yeshivish/ jpf type of camp.

Why is anyone hugging my post? If you have a problem with my questions you can just remove yourself from my thread.

Dd likes to wear a swim skort over her bathing suit when she's sitting around the pool and will take it off sometimes, sometimes she won't, when she swims.

The girls do shave. She can use an electric shaver that doesn't cause any nicks or cuts, as needed.

I was in camp around 5 years ago. Some girls wore regular bathing suit. Some wore shorts on top of regular bathing suits. Some wore short sleeve bathing suit shirt with shorts. Depends what you’re comfortable in. I would send her with both and let her decide there.

She has these two (if they're no longer available, you can still see the styles and that they're swimsuit material).

This is a very easy no nick electric shaver that my girls use.

Dd says many girls wear shorts. The younger grades less of a majority than the older. Some girls wear short sleeve tops and a very small amount wear full shvim kleids.
Pretty much everyone shaves or uses some other form of hair removal. Without seeing your dd’s hair it’s hard to say what’s the norm. Is it more sporadic baby hair maybe she doesn’t need to shave and it’s not noticeable but if she has a good amount of hair that happens to be blond it won’t show through stockings but will be more obvious at the pool and she might be more comfortable shaving.

Maybe reach out to the camp and see what the girls in that camp tend to do because every camp is different.
For my daughter girls mostly wear bathing suits and maybe shorts but she is only comfortable in a Tznius bathing suit so that’s what she wears.

From what age do they shave? My oldest is 13 and doesn’t want to shave. Going to camp this year don’t want her to stick out.

Dd started around 11 or 12, when it became noticeable. At 13 not shaving would definitely stick out.

Yes. I know there are girls who shave upper leg but dd doesn’t have enough there to bother.

Seriously?
Oh wow. I’m behind the times.
My older daughter started washing 1:2 leg at 12. I never said anything about bikini wax. Nor has she ever asked.
My current 11 yo is far from needing to shave her bikini line.

I’m not talking about bikini line. I actually asked a friend with a lot of girls about that specifically and she felt most girls did not remove hair there until an older age. But she did tell her girls and I tell mine that it’s not nice for hair to stick out of the bathing suit line.

Ok
I assumed you were talking about bikini line because you were asking about wearing shorts or some other bathing suit cover up.

For my girls and a lot of their friends they want a two piece bathing suit
A tank top or one with short sleeves and ether a swim skirt or shorts

All my girls wanted a two piece terry robe. We got them at a place where you buy the top and bottom separate because they needed a different size for both.
