I work in retail am very into fashion. Shells under a short sleeve dress are certainly not in style. A cardigan over a sleeveless dress or short sleeve dress is the way to go. Possibly a shell under a jumper is fine. But definitely not under a short sleeve dress. No no no

The local high end brooklyn stores are selling short sleeve above elbow sleeve sweaters to be worn with a shell underneath. These are $500-$1000 sweaters. I've definitely seen people that are very into fashion wear them this spring.

I wouldn't say the sleeves are very short, just above elbow. So far have only seen cotton sweaters and tee shirts.

Many very trendy looking women I’m seeing (hotel program) are wearing shells. Yes yes yes.

What is the point of going to a Jewish store for clothes if they are not Tznius??
This was my biggest gripe on shopping in Jewish stores a few years ago. That you could not find clothes Tznuis strait off the shelf.
Why is it happening again why are stores going back to selling clothes that are not Tznuis?

I haven’t seen this in my OOT area, can someone post a link to the style? I’m assuming it’s not the same as it was 10 years ago 😂
It’s definitely less comfortable in warm weather, but much more convenient!

It seems like almost anything is in style these days... I see so many different things and there is no one uniform look anymore. BH!

All the high end stores are certainly selling this style. Working in retail doesn’t mean you know everything 🤷♀️. This is what in town and high end stores are selling and wearing. Shells are in.

I'm happy to hear that shells are in again. I never outed them. Now I'll look great for me and also in style

I only realized that shells were out a few months ago after a well meaning relative informed me. Now they're back in. I can't keep up lol 😆

I live in nyc. They aren't in in the 5 towns. All the dresses have long sleeves. Vests are back in as though we are back to 1995. But I think you wear a regular shirt under and not a shell. But yes, if I don't mind wearing a shell I can shop in Burlington and spent 20-40 instead of 40-100.

I will never go back to a shell.
I hate layering, I don’t care who is wearing it.

The only way people wear them, are as long sleeved t-shirts. Like today I'm wearing a denim jacket that's open, with a crew neck long sleeve t-shirt underneath- that happens to be a shell but doesn't look like one you know.
Or when I wear a maxi skirt with a plain black ribbed t-shirt and a red belt.
