While everyone goes out on Chol Hamoed and vacation, my kids want to stay home including teenage. (I may be the only one interested to go out, so I go for walks, while they play).

I am wondering if we are the only family who stays home by choice. (Other than going to the kosel which is walking distance).

We have a nice yard they ride the hover board, bikes, jump on the trampoline or sit on the 3 seater swing.

Enjoy your Vacation / staycation.

OMG the Kotel is walking distance!!! I would never go anywhere.
I live in Teaneck NJ and we usually stay home by choice.

Lots of people are homebodies. I’m
Sure they’re not the only one especially when you have a lot of space as it sounds like you do

I feel like chol hamoed is the time for our family to out and do something experiential together.

Yesterday I got everyone out (took an hour to pack up food!), got the the kids to put on their shoes and daven early(ish) and after a few hours out they were all begging to go home.

Today I didn't bother (especially with the heatwave) and let everyone sleep in (except the shul goers) and we stayed home and played games, Playmobil and read books. The kids were all happy.

So I guess your kids are not the only ones.

We all like to stay home but I usually make everyone go out for a bit just to air out. A walk around the block is enough. Everyone comes back in a better mood.

Our big Chol-Ha-Moid trip on Pesach is often walking around the block to say a Brocha on the fruit tree.
