Mine fit in Kirkland kitchen garbage bags the white ones
I have 2 in a bag
I wasn’t able to close it all the way but I think it was good enough

AFAIK there are no self cleaning ovens in Israel.
Instead of dealing with the whole procedure, why don't you buy toaster oven for Pesach use? Some of you probably have the space to store it in your house.

I didn’t read all the replies but after our oven broke on is one Erev Pesach from self cleaning we reached out to a repair company and also researched ourselves.
This is what we were told / discovered:
Move it at least one foot away from the wall
Have a window open for ventilation / circulate air
Nothing should be in the oven - that includes the shelves and grates must be removed.
Don’t do it on a setting higher then three hours. For my oven that’s setting 3/5.
Give a quick wipe down to remove any pieces of food in the oven.
And then pray nothing malfunctions in the process.
Two years ago the door wouldn’t unlock after the self clean cycle. We were able to switch a part and that unlocked it and it BH worked after that.

My oven broke every year from the self clean I did for pesach kashering. The appliance repair man told us that self-clean breaks ovens, every time he would come replace the parts. I have a new oven this year and I will self-clean because I don't have another way to clean and kasher. Hoping for the best.
My oven is always away from the wall by several inches.

Range ovens also break! But wall ovens seem particularly sensitive. |
Guess self cleaning feature is another tool to sell.
Basic features means less trouble

Bit you have the clean the oven twice with caustic cleaning products before kashering this way for pesach. |
Cleaning twice is only if stuff still didn't come off after cleaning the first time.

Thanks ! Do you everything flat or standing ?
I just want to make sure I’m doing it right . If you lay it flat how do you prevent ammonia from spilling ? If you keep it up, how do you ensure that everything is properly soaked ?

Flat. In a garbage bag outside on the floor.
Not every surface has to be covered with ammonia. The fumes in the closed bag breaks down the dirt. It's not the soaking that does it.

I do all of it besides I had the racks and grates in.
I'm scared to run self cleaning now... But cleaning it doesn't sound too appealing, either 😂

After reading this thread I also got scared - even though I've used the self clean before with no issue.
I'm off to start scrubbing now because I can't risk losing the oven at this point

Ive never had a problem with self cleaning. I run it a few times a year esp if I spill something.

So how will you use the oven for Pesach?
