My son will Be"H be learning in BMG after Pesach. As someone coming from outside the US, he needs a US-compatible phone.
Where, in the Lakewood area, can one get a fair-priced kosher/flip phone?
All leads are welcome - especially for second-hand ones in good condition.

Does he have a phone now?
Can it be used with a different SIM card in the USA?
When my son went to learn in israel he used his regular phone just switched sim cards

Unfortunately, the kosher phones here are earlier models and don't support US SIMs.

My son is also starting in BMG next zman and we got one from GenTech in Lakewood, in the Gourmet Glatt shopping center. Was very easy.

What's the cost?
(I'd ask someone to pick one up so that my son has it when he arrives ...a day before the start of the zman.)

The phone cost $113. He wanted an Ani Chomah phone with no texting, but there are other options there. It comes with a plan, which is about $18/month. No commitment required for any specific time period, which is nice.

He can also go to TAG and buy a phone- then sign up for hello mobile which is $5 a month. You need to sign up online and they mail you a SIM card, so it might be best to have this arranged with someone before
