Allergic baby? Where to start?

My daughter was very happy on Neocate. I was eating grapes, meat and rice and wanted to buildup one food at a time to continue nursing. Long story short it didn't work! My daughter had a combo of regular IGE allergies and FPIES, therefore rice was a big trigger.
Start a food log with what you eat and her symptoms every day. It's demanding, but so worth it! It really helped us find a pattern. This will help you when you see an allergist.
Have your pediatrician do a basic allergy panel. Add on the foods you suspect. I found it to be accurate, but the allergy numbers we found do not reflect the severity.

B''h my daughter outgrew both issues.

Giving you a heads up that many allergists don't believe in delayed reactions or that eczema is related to food allergies. Found it to be most in doctors who trained in Mount Sinai. All allergy moms disagree! My pediatrician calls allergies an art more than a science. Join Sarah Gertzerfeld's allergy chat. A lot of very relevant info there.

Op btdt. Where do you live that you cant get an allergist sooner? I’ve gone to 3 allergists in the past year. Some gave me an appointment sooner and some later. My eczema babies didn’t get better just by using creams, even when I changed detergent and stopped using formula.

Thanks everyone. Gosh this is overwhelming! I’m reading all responses and appreciate all of them but also nursing the little princess so I can’t reply to everyone now. Very Happy

I hope to have more time tomorrow!

Unfortunately my pediatrician isn’t a big believer in allergy testing at this age, especially in breastfed babies, so I’m kind of feeling this out on my own.

Good luck! I ended up leaving my first pediatrician for this reason. We suffered for SO LONG for no reason other than this stupid pediatrician insisting that there's no way that what I'm eating is causing the eczema and other symptoms (spoiler alert.. it was).

My pediatrician couldn't deny the allergies in a breastfed baby because I held the baby up in front of him and we watched the hives move around. Skin testing showed nothing even after the kid reacted instantly to a lick of yogurt. We repeated skin testing at 18 months and thats when the positives showed up. I ended up seeing 3 different allergists and 1 gi with that kid. Hated 2 of the allergists. Tried getting into Mount Sinai but they had a 9 month wait and our insurance changed in the middle so we had to switch the appointment to a different provider.
