My 18 yr old son is iyh going to yeshiva in Israel next year and I want to buy a coat for him now. Does he need a very warm coat? Trying to figure out what to get. Also any specific brand recommendations would be appreciated. He’s usually a large kids’ size unless the men’s size comes in xs and runs small.

Not sure where you are from but winters in Jerusalem are much milder than in NY. DH pulls out his winter coat for a few days here and there, at best. (He is not a cold type, though.) Winters are very rainy, though, so invest in good boots and a raincoat.

Do I not need to send a winter coat? Or perhaps just a lightweight puffer?
