if a recipe calls for almond flour for cookies will it make such a diff to use ground almonds?

Almond flour is finer and the skin is removed before it's ground (it's often blanched first) but if you're OK with the texture is totally fine for cookies specifically. My husband prefers ground for cookies (if a cake is all almond flour, we make sure to get the flour).

ground almond flour also has the skinned removed and is blanched. no?
