What would you do if you received a counterfeit designer item of clothing as a gift? I know the gift-giver thinks it is authentic because she said I could sell it if it doesn't come to good use. It looks real but the company has confirmed it is not. I hope she wasn't ripped off for it but I don't feel like telling her anything, either. Should I give the item to charity and call it a day?

Why can’t u use the item? I certainly wouldn’t say anything. Probably nothing she can do about it if she was ripped off other than just make her feel bad.

She can claim a refund or make a complaint, it is probably from ebay. I agree that it would be rude to complain about a gift.
