That doesn't make sense I wear a 2x and fit into their 3x or 4x.

Didn’t read through the whole thread but want to give a shout out to Faigys boutique in Boro park. She is super nice, very honest and has great items!!!
Also sometimes companies make the same cut but different material/design from one season to the next so if you do come in you can maybe order for the next time something similar.
Also have found things in the past in my dream dress also in Boro park and in beautiful in monsey.

Impact fashion is size-inclusive, she is also on all the socials and has a podcast, she talks a lot about the sizing issues...

Same I do super well at fame. I found their skirts even run big (the elastic waist type)

I wear a 16 and I've done well at Fame. They carry so many different brands and they all run different.

Totally relate to all of this!
Seconding those who mentioned D-rama and Impact Fashion for frum brands.
Regular stores that I like for online shopping:
Macys
Nordstrom / Nordstrom Rack
Bloomchic (low quality cheap stuff from China, but great return policy and good sizing)
Dainty Jewels (gorgeous high quality dresses! has all sizes, small to 4x. I find I need to size up one size, so I'm 3x instead of 2x. Anything on sale is final sale so I wouldn't recommend that until you figure out what size you run)

Nordstrom has beautiful plus size stuff and such a great return policy. They also have awesome shoes!

I consider Target brand sizing my actual sizing. But now I'm stressed because I just ordered that dress in a larger size and it'll probably be too big 🤷♀️

Everything I try in there is tight in all the wrong places and when I size up I look like a garbage bag.
I have concluded it's just not made for my body. Went last week and tried on at least 15 pieces, this was my third time trying stuff on in the past two years and nothing looked flattering.

Probably depends where you carry your weight.

Japparel has a very nice and big plus size collection. They also open up an exclusive plus size store in flatbush called Oasis by Japparel near J and nostrand.

Thank you. How do things run size-wise? I see some nice things I'd like to order but am questioning the sizing. Looks like I'd be comfortably in 1x according to their size charts but usually I'm 2x and sometimes even 3x elsewhere.

I know they are very true to size. It cant hurt to email them and ask if you want to be 100% sure.

And yet today I tried on an XXL point tshirt that I bought two years ago on final sale (yes dumb me didn’t try it on) and ITS STILL TOO TIGHT. I’m down to a size 12 and I can’t fit into an xxl. Someone explain this me.
At this rate the stores should continue carrying all the oversized items they can bec real woman will still need it. |
Yes!! Thank you!!!
I'm no plus size. 150 pounds, 5'5" but why does everything run soooo tiny?!?!?

Ahhh
No wonder why I can’t find anything in Lakewood.
I’m a size 12-14 but only 5ft tall.
I spent hours trying to come home with ONE new thing- even if it needed alterations but I came home without anything.
I tried the plus size shops here and because I’m so short everything was way too big. In regular stores everything was way too tight. Way, way too tight.

I'm also short (4'11), and I find some things you can hem and some things just fit wrong all over. If a flowy skirt is too long that's an easy fix (unless there's a hem design you'd lose), but if a top is too long from the bust to the waist and the waist to the hips, there's not really anything to do.
