I have finally nailed plain white rice after trying for a while. I sometime add gravy from the protien or spring onion, roasted almonds and craisons.

I would love to learn recipes of flavoured rice and fried (Without egg).

Any ideas with step by step instructions?

For flavored rice, I've sauteed garlic in oil for a minute before adding the rice in. I'll toast the rice until lightly golden before proceeding with the recipe. I've also done this with ginger or a mixture of the two.

You can use chicken soup as your liquid or part of the liquid for extra flavor.

I sometimes add soy sauce some sesame oil and baby corn or mushrooms. Other times I do onion soup mix, s&p. Sometimes I cook it in chicken/veg soup mix and add peas at the end. You can also cook it in tomato sauce.

My favorite is really simple but comes out so flavorful.

Grate or finely chop 1 large carrot and one large onion. Add salt and saute in oil until soft. Feel free to add garlic, black pepper, herbs. Add 2 cups of rice and continue sautéing until fragrant.

Cover with water and proceed with your usual cooking method.

for the yellow fried rice type
add a tbsp of turmeric to the spices you put in when you sautee the rice before putting in the water
