Charleston is unique in that in most towns the Jewish community and shul are in a suburban neighborhood that's nowhere near the tourist attractions. But Charleston has 2 shuls, one (Dor Tikvah) in suburbia, but the other (BSBI) in the heart of historic downtown, which enabled us to take a lovely Shabbos afternoon walk through all the touristy areas. There are several hotels in walking distance, but DO NOT stay at the Hyatt House/Place, as it is not Shabbos friendly.

Is that on rutledge avenue?
Because I was looking at that and was going to take it as it's a 2 minute walk away from the shul.

No, the Hyatt that is not Shabbos friendly is on King Street. What is the name of your hotel on Rutledge?
