You're asking about the weather in Israel in January? It's usually fairly chilly and can be rainy. But some days are warm, as well. I recommend you check the weather forecast closer to your trip.

Dress in layers, bring sneakers and probably rain boots (or a spare pair of sneakers). Most of Israel doesn't get to freezing temperatures in the winter, but especially in the rain it can feel pretty cold.

Have an amazing time!!!

I was in Israel in January 2019, when my DD was in Sem. It was cold, but not freezing. Definitely needed a coat, but not the super warm one. I would compare it to November is NY.

From a tznius perspective, dress how you are comfortable being mindful of different places you will be going. I always err on the side of tznius and on the side of formal
